Pupil Premuim Funding - Information for Families

What is Pupil Premium Funding?

Pupil Premium funding is a government grant allocated to schools to support and further develop the educational outcomes of eligible pupils. It is often called Free School Meal Funding as this is one of the benefits that an eligible child would receive.

Is my child eligible to receive pupil premium funding? 

Your child may be able to receive Pupil Premium funding if you receive any of the following: 

• Income Support 
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance 
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance 
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 
• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit 
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) 
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit 
• Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

An application will only take about 2 minutes to complete. 

You will need to provide the following information to complete an application: 

• Your own name and date of birth 
• Contact details 
• National Insurance Number or National Asylum Seekers Number 
• Child's name and date of birth 
   

How will this benefit my child? 

• Additional support to enhance learning and wellbeing 
• Free school meals will continue through KS2 (years 3-6) 
• Financial contributions to help with trip costs, clubs and music tuition
• Free milk provided daily 
• Support with uniform
• Food vouchers during school holidays and free places in holiday clubs
