New Website

I am very excited to share with you our brand new school website. We have been working hard behind the scenes to design a website that is modern, informative, useful, easy to navigate, and has better compatibility on a range of devices. It includes new features such as a live calendar, easy-to-read newsfeed and map. It is our new home to showcase our fantastic school.

Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the new layout.

Time for Cooperation

Our new School Value for this term is Cooperation. Working well together is a key life skill that the children constantly experience at home, in school and in all aspects of their life. Therefore, we use this term to really focus the children on how to do this well. How can you work collaboratively to achieve a better outcome than working alone?

The children will have special assemblies and lessons to help them develop this crucial skill. Please reinforce the importance of this at home and see if you can incorporate opportunities for them to show cooperation. Perhaps they can help you with jobs or you can organise family games where they play as part of a team? We look forward to seeing how the children develop this value over the term.

Communication is our new Curriculum 'C'

To coincide with our new Value ‘Cooperation’, our new Curriculum C is Communication. This means that much of the learning that the children do will be underpinned by this global theme. As technology continues to change at a rapid pace, our focus on Communication enables children to discover how the current technological world we live in came to be, and what the future may hold for them. Many of our families have jobs that directly link to the content in our Communication themes therefore this learning is significant for the children and their aspirations for future employment.

You can find out more about the Themes the children are learning about here https://sites.google.com/wvps.northants.sch.uk/home-learning/wider-curriculum-themes

School Blogs

Please check out the blog pages which will continue to be accessible on the school website. Here you can see what your child has been learning recently.

Achieve With Me

Coming up soon we have our new ‘Achieve With Me’ sessions in school. This is an opportunity for parents to come into school for a short amount of time to see something their child is learning (the focus will be English or Maths) and to possibly help them with the learning. We hope this gives you some insight into teaching approaches, how your child learns and the standard of your child’s curriculum. You may even be able to support your child at home with extra learning in this area too!

If you have more than one child’s session on the same day, we will help you to either split your time fairly between them, or put the children together with you.

If you are able to come along, please arrive at the front of school just before 2.30pm for a prompt start. The session will finish at 3pm where you will be given the option of leaving school or waiting outside your child’s classroom for a possible earlier pick-up. Also, please be aware that the use of phones in school is not allowed. However, we will aim to take lots of photos for the website.

See the days and times below, and we hope to see many of you there.
