Mary Anning

This week the children listened to a story all about Mary Anning, a famous fossil collector.  They have learnt about fossils and in English have labelled the skeleton of a dinosaur.  In maths, the children have learnt about some 3d shapes.  They have gone on a shape hunt in and around the school and learnt some names of these shapes.  They have learnt that, '3d shapes and fat and 2d shapes are flat'.  The children's weekly challenges involved cutting out parts of a dinosaur skeleton and sticking them together, using their number bond knowledge, building a dinosaur with the construction material and creating a dinosaur egg.
