Tell Us A Story

This week the children have been introduced to our new topic 'Tell us a story'. Each week the children will be learning about a different story.

This week our story is Jack and the Beanstalk'.  In English, the children listened to the story and then acted out the story in small groups.  They also ordered the story, drew what they thought would be at the top of the beanstalk, created a scene from the story and used the small world figures to retell the story.  In maths, they have used addition to add characters from the story together. They have constructed a ladder for Jack in the construction area and even planted their own bean seed! The children have talked about what their bean needs to grow well and are excited to see if they will grow a giant beanstalk!
