Composing rhythms
This term, our little musicians have been diving into the world of steady beats! Through fun activities and hands-on learning, they’ve explored the rhythm that makes music so exciting. We've been marching out steady beats and even playing them on drums, helping the children connect movement with sound.
The children have really enjoyed exploring different types of musical notes. So far, they've learnt about crotchets, quavers, and rests, using playful songs about walking and jogging to help make these concepts come to life. These songs have been a perfect way to show how different rhythms can be part of everyday actions.
Today was an especially exciting day as the children got creative by writing and playing their very own music. Using percussion instruments, they composed their rhythms and shared them with the class—showing how much they've learnt about the connection between sound, movement, and rhythm.
