Pastry tarts
This half-term in DT, the children have been looking at seasonal food and deciding on which foods to put into their pastry tarts. The children first had a taster session where by they tasted different types of sauces for the base, meats, cheeses and a variety of vegetables. I was so impressed with how brave the children were at tasting foods they had never had before! Yesterday, the children got to make their own tarts and eat them! Most of the children found them delicious and recipes have gone home so you can have a go at home making tarts whether savoury or fruit.
