Nouns, nouns and more nouns!

This week we have been refreshing and developing our knowledge of nouns: common nouns, proper nouns, collective nouns, partitive nouns and abstract nouns!
Today we focussed on abstract nouns and discovered that these are things that are intangible, which means that they are a thing that does not physically exist and we cannot see, hear or touch it. Examples of abstract nouns include emotions, characteristics and concepts.

The children became really adept at spotting whether words were abstract nouns or adjectives as these very often get confused with one another. The children had to sort a range of words into those that were abstract nouns and those that were actually adjectives.
