Investigating nets!

This afternoon, we were revising nets. We talked about the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. We then talked about the fact that a net was a 2D representation of a 3D shape: it was something that could be folded up to make the 3D shape. After matching various 3D shapes to their nets, we used the magnetic polydron to investigate the nets of cubes. We were surprised to discover that there were 11 possible nets! There were some tricky ones to spot!
