A very wet bug hunt!
On Monday, the children went into the pond area to explore the area and learn more about what insects could be found in the pond and surrounding area. The children learnt all about the life cycle of the newts that can be found in the pond and even spotted a couple! They also used an insect key to tick off all the other insects that could be found in the area. They found a baby nest under a log, Bertie's, caterpillars, ants, pond skaters and much more. This was a great way to link our science topic to habitats ready for next half term and there were no complaints about the rain!
