Headteacher Newsletter 440

Dear parents, please read on for details about Kingswood Caterers, Easter Egg Tombola, Easter Camps, Walking Bus Week, Family Bingo Night, and Comic Relief.
Kingswood Caterers
We recently communicated details about our new lunchtime caterers, Kingswood, via School Ping. This included notice of a special taster session for families on Wednesday 23rd April straight after school. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to sample some of their food!
In addition, there is also a Question and Answer opportunity for parents tomorrow at 3pm. If you have any questions for our new caterers, or you have had any issues registering, then please look out for Kingswood staff located near the front gate.
Easter Egg Tombola - tomorrow - bring £1!
Thank you for your kind donations of Easter chocolate and sweet treats last Friday. Tomorrow after school will be the Easter Egg tombola which is always a favourite with the children! As usual, there will be a few tables spaced around the outdoor areas run by the FOWV - please look out for these!
Tombola tickets can be purchased for £1 and this event is CASH ONLY so bring your coins please! If your child is in Year 5 or Year 6 and would like to purchase tickets for £1 please remind them to bring their pound in!
Freestyle Easter Camp - Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th April
There are still some spaces on the Freestyle Sport camps this Easter. This camp is open for all children at Woodland View and will be held at school. Please book via https://freestylegroup.co.uk/event-list/holiday-camps/ and scroll down to the Woodland View Camp option.
Walking Bus Week
This week we are trialling a Walking Bus (details communicated in previous Ping messages). So far this has been very successful with 10 children joining each day. This has resulted in less cars parking near to school.
If you are still parking outside of the school, please continue to be mindful of children and parents walking, and also other cars moving too. The front of the school can get very congested so it is important that drivers are moving slowly and showing calmness and respect to others during this busy time.
If the Walking Bus is to be a frequent feature for our families, we may require parent volunteers to support. So, if this is something you might be able to help with in the future, please look out for future communication!
Family Bingo - Friday 2nd May from 6pm
Last year we held a Family Bingo evening with the help and support of our wonderful FOWV! It was such a success that we are doing it again on Friday 2nd May!
We will be hosting 2 games - 6-7pm and 7.15-8.15pm meaning that families have 2 opportunities to sign up so hopefully nobody misses out!
I will be visiting classrooms next term to play a mini-bingo game with the children so they can experience the game before potentially signing-up. If you would like to attend, mark this date on your calendar and look out for a sign-up Ping next term.
Comic Relief
Thank you for your recent contributions to Comic Relief; we raised £353 for this important charity.
Blogs
Please visit our school blog pages on the school website to see some of the wonderful learning the children have been doing recently. https://www.wvps.northants.sch.uk/page/?title=Year+Group+Blogs&pid=75
