Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

In English, the children have carried on learning about the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.  They have used the story map and their sound knowledge to write words to go with some of the pictures on the map.  The children have also listened to the story of Snow White.  They then designed and drew their own dwarf.  They have also cut out pictures of food to go onto a healthy plate.  In maths, children have been learning about 1 more and 1 less than a number, as well as the composition of numbers.  One of the children's challenges this week is to read and match their red words (those that cannot be sounded out).  They have also enjoyed using the learning garden where they have used their balance skills whilst riding bikes and scooters, dug for treasure in the stones, built houses with the construction materials, drew lovely pictures and cooked some yummy food in the role-play area for Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
